Roasted corn is a popular street food in Nigeria, especially during the rainy season. It's a simple and delicious snack often paired with coconut or pear (ube). Here's how to make it at home:

Ingredients:
Fresh corn on the cob (preferably white or yellow)
Salt (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Corn:
Peel back the husk and remove the silk from the corn.
Rinse the corn cobs in water to clean them thoroughly.
Roast the Corn:
Using a Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the corn directly on the grill grates and roast, turning occasionally, until all sides are evenly charred and cooked through. This usually takes about 10–15 minutes.
Using a Charcoal Stove (Local Method): Light up the charcoal stove and place a wire rack or grill over it. Roast the corn on the rack, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Season (Optional):
You can lightly brush the roasted corn with salt water or sprinkle some salt over the corn after roasting for added flavor.
Serve:
Serve hot with coconut or pear (ube), a classic Nigerian pairing that complements the smoky, sweet flavor of the roasted corn.
Enjoy your homemade roasted corn just like the ones from the streets of Nigeria!
